Gay Marrige and The Iraq War

These subjects are very much part of my political soul. I can rant on and on about gay marriage and I am connected to the war personally. I am going to start with Gay Marriage.

Gay marriage is ridiculously over looked just because people have a closed mind and take it way to far to the extreme. Gay people are just like me and you. They have feelings, they have a beating heart and a pulse. They are not monsters that roaming the Earth choosing to make people mad by being gay, it's just ridiculous. They have the right to pursue happiness, the right to freedom and everything else everyone does. What makes them so different from you and me? The right to get married is just another thing that should be given to them. It is just these people that don't have an open mind that are keeping them from this right. What ever happened to minority rights? These people, these very real people, are being suppressed by closed mind people and no one seems to give a crap. How can we do this to people? Why doesn't anyone do anything about this? This subject makes me so mad that I want to explode sometimes. Can someone please explain to me why they don't have the same rights we do just because their different? I had this boy in my 8th grade class that LOVED to argue about gay marriage. I didn't really understand why he did, but it was very amusing to watch. His argument was if God created all the people on this Earth he created gay people and they should have this right. I can't really remember the other things he said, but that really stuck out. This proves that even if the reason they shouldn't have this right is religious it is wrong and should be corrected. This is ridiculous, I really don't get it. What is the big deal about people of the same sex getting married?

The next thing is the Iraq war. What are we really doing there? The reason that was said why we were going there was because they had possession of weapons of mass destruction. Did we find any? Any at all? NO, of course not. I believe the real reason we went over there was either Oil or that Bush wanted to finished off what his father had started. There are people, people that are brave and strong, that are risking there lives for Bush's phony reasoning. My Step-brother, Joe., is in a fort somewhere in Kansas getting ready to be deported to go fight into this war. I really don't know the guy all that much, but all I know is my Step-father, Jim, would be very upset if he was killed. I don't want to see him like that. He should have to experience that for Bush's war for oil or to finish things off in the Middle East. What are we doing over there right this second? Were trying to play peace keeper and we pretty much didn't sign up for that. We need to get out of there. We gave them a government and now we need to let the baby bird fly away from the nest by itself. We can't really do anything else for these people. If we stay there that much longer we will probably end up hurting rather than helping. But, we can't just out of the blue leave and let them deal with their crumbling society, we need to pull out responsibly. My question is, why did congress let Bush do this? Going through around 500 people didn't any of them think, this is stupid, we shouldn't be doing this? We have been wasting 3 trillion dollars a year (or month, i am not sure) on this war that we could have used other places that really need it. Like, here at home.

Gay marriage-
I agree!
let em' do what they want. They're not forcing anything on anyone. Even if you disagree with it, no one has the right to tell other people what they can and cannot do with their own lives. (that is unless it has a negative affect on others)

Which comes to the...

Iraq war-
Holy SHIT!
Talk about America looking like a bunch of douche bags.
Like you said.. NO weapons of mass destruction!
WHY ARE WE STILL THERE?!?!?!
The latest research I've reviewed was a documentary called "Control Room" which depicts the aftermath of 9/11 and Afghanistan.
Over 3000 civilians were killed during that time in Iraq.
That ups the casualties to twice the amount from 9/11.
And this was in 2002.
Thousands of innocent women children have been. and are still being killed because of this conflict.
Just look at how many of our troops have returned with severe post traumatic stress because of all the disgusting inhumane things they see in Iraq.
I wouldn't feel so hot either if I saw families being torn apart by violence day in and day out for years.
The "fight against terrorism" in my eyes is the fight between the the U.S. government and people around the world.

Yeah, I agree. It really is just rediculous about how much time we have spent over there. Our gov. has really fucked us up with the Middle East. The real only allies in the Middle East that we have right now is Isreal and everyone aorund them hates them and is bombing them because of us. We are killing innocent people for no real good reason. How can we just continue this like nothing is happenijg? I really haven't heard anything on Isreal sense last year when we studied it. Why isn't this a big issue?
